Good-bye for now, blogspot
Well, again, not sure if anyone even looks at this anymore. i think it's time for me to say goodbye to blogspot, time for a change. maybe this never happens to anyone else, but it happens to me a lot... when i get a new journal/diary i feel excited to write in it; more inspired if you will. then after a while i guess the novelty starts to wear off and all that. so goes blogging i suppose. i have started a tumblr page, which is a little less of a straight forward blog, and more of a place for random thoughts and ideas. i'm not sure what the future holds for my lonely blogspot, i may return one day. but for now stay tuned to http://mccanndotlucy.tumblr.com

Pagosa Springs
Well, here i am in pagosa springs, colorado visiting with sarah miller, kat, jill, and ellen. They came out from virginia for a week to a time share that kat's parents have. i had off from thursday afternoon till tuesday morning at trail west, so i decided to make the short three hour trip down here to hang out for a few days.
we went to the natural hot springs yesterday for a few hours and i feel like a new person! it was really fun to test out the different tempertatures and pools and everything. pagosa is a really cute town and has a cute little touristy downtown. last night sarah and i made the one hour trip to durango which is a little bit bigger. we got a good dinner and walked around their historic downtown looking in at art galleries and fun little shops. they're all packing up to make the treck back to virginia and i'm going to relax for a little longer then head back to trail west. i don't realy have any other plans for the weekend, but on monday all of the interns are planning on going to denver to go to the zoo and to chick fil a for lunch (which i fully support) so that will be fun.
everything at trail west has been going great. work week was exactly that; a week of hard but good work. i was working with the other gorse people down at the barn cleaning and getting everthing ready for the summer. we got to go on a ride or two also. then on sunday night a group of high school seniors from atlanta came in for a few days for their senior trip, so we were helping both doing rides and serving meals int he dining hall -- which i think was more tiring than work week! they left on thursday morning and we did some cleaning around camp, and then i hopped in the car headed to pagosa springs.
on tuesday we have some first aide training and then more cleaning prob the rest of the week. on friday the work crew and summer staff come in, saturday is a big training day with the summer staff, then our first set of campers get here in sunday! really ectied. alright the girls are heading out, so i'm off! love to all

Hey Texas
Greetings everyone from Amarillo, Tx. I am 3/4 of my way to buena vista, colorado! one more day on the road and i'll be at trail west for the summer.
my traveling has been going well so far. yesterday i made the long treck to little rock to spend the night with kathy cobb. i hit the road about 7am and had smooth sailing all the way to nashville, where i hit some pretty icky traffic. after spending over an hour getting a mile down the road to the next exit, i got off and b-lined it to the nearest bathroom. i then treated myself to an orange cream slush from sonic :). i chatted with a lady in the gas station bathroom line and she told me i could get on this side road that would take me a few miles down the interstate, and maybe i would get around wahtever was blocking it. it worked! and after that it was straight on to little rock. let me tell ya... tennessee is a LONG state haha. and interstate 40 is long and straight. i do like the 70mph speed limit though!
since i didn't really have anything to get to amarillo for i took it easy this morning and visited with kathy over a cup of coffee. i also took a nice long lunch break at chick fil a outside of oklahoma city. other than a little bit of rain on the arkansas/oklahoma border, the weather was absolutely beautiful and i was able to have my windows down for intervals of time (i had to close them perdiodically to give my ears a rest).
so here i am at the super 8 in amarillo, watching bruce almighty on the television and surfing the net. i'm thinking about finding a grocery store and getting alittle something to eat.

i'm not sure what the internet situation is going to be like at trail west but, i'll update when i can and keep you up with the fun things we get to do!
Love you all

You know it's been a while when your browser doesn't recognize your own blog address...
i'm pretty sure everyone has probably stopped checking in on me here, and for good reason. but as i gear up to head away from home again i decided to revamp a little and at least get back in the routine of blogging a little. i am headed to colorado the first week of may and will be there through the first week of august, and couldn't be more excited. in the fall it is my plan to move to new york city to pursue jobs with the final goal of qualifying for a long term uk visa. i have been at home since christmas, making short jaunts around virginia visiting friends, and have also made one out of state visit to nyc to meet up with a friend from harrods who lives in maine. this summer i hope to make updates here of my cowgirl adventures, so stay tuned for fun! love

Sleeping Beauty and Camden Town
Well, here we are. six months later. life has been unexpected, eventful, and full of wonderful people and i am so incredibly grateful for the time i have been able to spend in this city. i've been spending a lot of time this week just looking back over the last half year and realizing how truly blessed i am. i can truthfully say that i have probably had the best and the worste times of my life here. i have learned so much about life, about friendship, about responsibility, and so many other things. i now know what it's like to have a five pound note in your pocket, and nothing in your bank account, and then what it's like to truly appreciate the benefits of hard work. i've made new friends, and cherished old friendships. explored the city with roommates and also been able to share my city with visitors. i think this has been one of the most important things i've ever done, and i can't imagine six months of life being spent in any other way than here in london.
these past few weeks have been especially rich. with street being able to come and hang out for a week, and now having a whole week off of work i've been soaking it all in. street and i had a fabulous time and i am so grateful for the time we were able to spend together here! it felt really nice to spend time with someone who really knows me and with whom i'm so comfortable and relaxed. we romped around town and i showed her all the best parts. she had to entertain herself for the three days i had to work; going to museums and what not. but then we had 4 and a half days to enjoy together. we went to the balet and saw "the sleeping beauty", ate good food, danced, shopped, talked, and laughed. it was a great closing to my stay.
street headed to chalon on tuesday afternoon, so i rode with her out to the airport. since then i've been happily spending my free time during the days with relaxing and soaking up my time. i've not felt much need to run around frantically fitting every last thing in, but have been feeling really laid back and just doing what i would normally do. on tuesday night i met my friend kristen for indian food in brick lane, wednesday i went in to harrods one last time, yesterday i went to spitalfield's antique market for some bargain shopping, last night i met up with friends from work for drinks one last time, and today i'm hanging out around the flat, working on packing and organizing my life into suitcases. i'm not ready to go. but i know that whatever comes next i will be ready. i am ready to be cared for by my family and friends, and be at home, don't get me wrong, but i just don't feel done here. i'll be back london.
i'll see you all soon. love

Friends!
Well i am so happy to have miss emily street here visiting me for a week! she got in yesterday morning and i went to meet her at the airport. we came back to the flat and she was able to take a shower and what not before we headed out for a little bit of sight seeing before it got dark. i took her to lunch at one of my favorite little cafes in primrose hill then we walked up to the top of the park and looked at the view of the city skyline. then we hopped on the tube down to the river and walked down southbank to the tate modern. we had about an hour in the museum before they closed, which was pretty much the perfect amount of time to see everything. we then crossed the river and walked around st pauls and tubed it back up to chalk farm and went to a pub where andy was meant to be having a gig... though that didn't end up happening. oh well. then we came back here at about 9 and i put street to bed because she was super tired. now we're off for another fun day arond town. we're going to try and go see a ballet tonight! talk to you all soon!
